The next time you find yourself in a funk, a foul mood, confused or bored, do something for someone else. Throw someone else’s garbage away, donate to charity, roll up your sleeves and volunteer your time to someone in need. Do it without expectation of reward. Seva, selfless service is the gateway to humility and the fastest way to shift your consciousness. One of the goals of Yoga is to generate energy on the mat, so that you can live by the ethics of your faith and uplift others with your presence.
This coming weekend, join hundreds of Yogis for One Love Toronto and an opportunity to give back to the Global Community.
100% of donations support the Global Seva Challenge of Off the Mat, Into the World, whose 2011 efforts will directly support grass roots organizations in Haiti. Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. As of September 2010, there are over 1 million refugees still living in tents without access to water, food and health care. Working with select aid organizations that have been engaged in Haiti for many years, we will respond to both critical needs and also work to create and implement long term solutions. In addition, we will offer trainings that empower local individuals and communities to become sustainably self sufficient.
