My Body My Temple – We Care with Underwear

We know that you are a concerned citizen.  You donate your time and

money  to worthy causes and care about what happens to people

around the world who you will likely never meet.  This is the power

of Yoga – the practice provides an understanding of our deep

connection to ourselves, each other and the world we live in.

That’s why YogaVision supports We Care with Underwear.

When we heard Maggie’s idea we had to get involved.  Collecting new

underwear for women and girls in Haiti is a simple, straight

forward way to help eradicate violence against women and girls

worldwide, permanently and in our lifetime. What’s underwear got to

do with violence?  Listen to Maggie’s explanation, and I am sure

that you will agree – it’s time to buy underwear.

Karma Yoga is one of the classical forms of Yoga.

By taking selfless action, you create a shift in consciousness, a

leap out of your own self defined limitations.  This kind of

perspective offers an opportunity to heal and transform quickly and

gracefully.  That is why each YogaVision class ends with ten

minutes of Karma Yoga.

And so far YogaVision students have

collected over 1,800 pairs of underwear.  Leaving a place better

than when we found is the path of the Yogi.
