Elements of Meditation
Posture – Adjust your posture so that your spine is straight. A straight spine allows energy to flow through the body.
Breath – Allow the breath to come and go naturally as you prepare for meditation. Some meditations will specify a breath pattern. If none is specified, breath long and deep. Adjusting your breathing pattern affects the flow of thoughts and can alter your state of alertness.
Mental Focus - Adjusting your mental or physical gaze stimulates different areas of the brain and creates a particular set of responses in the body, mind and spirit. Focusing at the brow point or third eye is a common example of mental focus.
