There was a time I sat in therapy and couldn’t speak. I felt frozen. I wanted to heal, but I didn’t have the words. And honestly, the words wouldn’t have been enough.
That’s when I found Kundalini Yoga. The movement and breath gave me something language couldn’t. Each kriya helped me connect with the parts of my body where trauma still lived. I didn’t need to explain anything. I could feel it. I could move it.
One reason Kundalini Yoga is so effective for trauma survivors is that it targets the nervous system directly. Many of the practices activate the vagus nerve, which helps pull us out of fight, flight, or freeze states.
After a few weeks of practice, I started to feel real shifts. Loud noises didn’t startle me as much. My sleep improved. My digestion got better. These might sound like small changes, but for someone living with PTSD, they meant everything.
Kundalini Yoga didn’t replace therapy for me. It supported it. If you’ve been feeling stuck, numb, or disconnected, this practice might be the thing that finally helps you move forward.
