Somatic healing changed the way I understand recovery.
Before I found it, I spent years talking about my trauma. It helped me make sense of what happened, but it didn’t change how I reacted when I was triggered. My body still responded like it was in danger, even when my mind knew I was safe.
Somatic healing works because it acknowledges something deeper. Trauma isn’t just a memory. It’s a pattern that lives in the nervous system.
Kundalini Yoga is one of the practices that helped me begin to shift that pattern. With breath, sound, and movement, it speaks the language of the body. It doesn’t force calm. It creates conditions where calm can return.
You don’t need to be flexible or experienced to benefit from this. You just need to be willing to stay with yourself through the process. With each practice, you start to feel more grounded, more aware, and more present in your own life.
